About the job

Nomod operates primarily in the UAE, through a group of entities that also includes holding companies used for group structuring. You will own the books, close and statutory audit cycle for a cluster of them, end to end.

As an Accounting Specialist you will:

• Maintain the books and month-end close for an assigned cluster of group entities

• Prepare statutory financial statements and run the external audit for those entities, covering auditor liaison, schedules, queries and the sign-off timetable

• Keep a live calendar of statutory filing and audit deadlines across your entities

• Prepare and reconcile intercompany schedules and balances with the group

• Hand clean, audit-ready entity numbers to the group consolidation

• Cover the other entity accountant’s cluster during leave and audit peaks

What we'd like

Great people are effective at quickly learning what we use or introduce us to new ways of working.

Having said that, we think an Accounting Specialist should:

• Be a qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CPA, CA or equivalent)

• Have three or more years in entity or statutory accounting, having owned a full audit cycle yourself

• Have a working knowledge of IFRS

• Have experience preparing statutory financial statements and managing auditor requests

• Be well organised against hard deadlines across several entities at once

• Have strong spreadsheet skills and be comfortable in a cloud accounting system

• Have the ability to thrive in a fully remote, distributed organization

• Have proficiency with Chrome, Gmail, Google Docs, and similar web tools

Nice to have

• Multi-entity group experience, ideally including UAE entities

• Audit practice background

• Experience with consolidation tooling

• Payments or financial services sector experience

• High-growth startup or fintech experience, and experience working in remote, multicultural teams.
