Engineering Lead (AI-Native)

About the job

We are looking for a strong Engineering Lead with deep technical and engineering experience, combined with strong product thinking. In this role, you will lead engineers while remaining a hands-on individual contributor, driving architecture and execution from the technical side.

You will build at high speed by leveraging advanced AI tools (e.g., Claude, Codex, Cluster, and others), ensuring scalability, security, and quality are never compromised.

As the technical owner, you will shape engineering standards, guide system design, and translate product needs into robust, AI-accelerated implementations.

As an Engineering Lead you will:

• Lead a team of engineers, coaching them on how to effectively utilize AI agents (Claude, Codex, etc.) to handle the bulk of code generation while maintaining high standards.

• Act as the final line of auditing and refining AI-generated code across the full stack (Python/Django & React) for security, performance, and correctness.

• Lead the high-level design of robust APIs using Django REST Framework, ensuring the team follows advanced security patterns to prevent XSS and SQL injection to ensure architect scalable systems.

• Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines and AI-driven deployment strategies to ensure the team moves from product concept to feature in record time and own the development workflow.

• Work closely with stakeholders to evaluate features based on user value and technical scalability, ensuring the team isn't just "completing tickets" but building a cohesive product to bridge Product & Engineering

• Establish the team's automated testing standards and monitoring protocols to proactively identify bottlenecks and ensure system integrity.

What we'd like

Technical ability is a baseline, but Product Taste and AI Fluency are our primary filters. We want engineers who are bored by manual boilerplate and excited by agentic workflows.

• Experience leading engineering teams in a high-growth environment, with a focus on full-stack ownership and product thinking.

• Mastery of Python and Django for backend architecture, paired with the ability to guide React and React Native development for the frontend with deep stack expertise.

• Strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals, design patterns, and complex asynchronous flows (RabbitMQ, Kafka).

• Deep experience in API engineering, including authentication, authorization, and modern observability tools.

• Experience building and overseeing reusable plugins, extensions, or modular systems to keep the codebase maintainable as the team grows.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go for performance-critical services.

• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) to support AI-driven deployments.

• Background in building or fine-tuning LLM-based features.

• Experience in the Fintech industry.
